What should a New Model Expect?
Another wide range question we get asked by prospective models and even
more by parents. We will touch on this but will continue in every
addition of Top Local Model Magazine.
Modeling is a highly competitive industry. It is
always evolving based on fashion and commercial trends. Many
prospective models have a picture of what modeling is all about.
It is important to have realistic expectations.
- Expect to work hard, and to be told "No!".
- Expect to be solicited by many "Scams" and get rich quick
programs and agency's.
- Once getting your "Foot in the door" do not expect to be "Miss
super model". Many models once hired for a project, then
become Miss or Mr. attitude. Expect fashion designers and
commercial project mangers to be less than entertained. I have
witnessed many "princesses" asked to leave the premises.
Remember, word of mouth is heavy in this business and time is money.
If you get a reputation of "being hard to work with" smaller
projects will bypass you.
- Expect crazy hours! Photographers work with light, and
time of day is incredibility important. Your timeliness is
important.
Ok enough of my "doom and gloom" lets look at some
other aspects and expectations.
Expect to meet some great people!
Expect to have fun!
If you really enjoy modeling you will have a blast!
Expect, regardless of modeling level, to have confidence in yourself
well above your peers that you will carry for a lifetime!
Expect to have great memories and photos to share with your
grandchildren
Remember,
